Winchester Model 1894 Special Order Rifle in .25 WCF built in 1902 w/ 2/3 Mag & Lyman Sights
Description:
Serial #150712, .25 WCF (.25-35), 24" part octagon barrel with a good-very good bore that has dark freckling within the grooves. This is a handsome, 1902-made rifle that features a special order barrel and 2/3 magazine. The metal retains 80-85% of the original blue finish with silvering at the muzzle and along the barrel facets. Further fading to bright gray is present on the rounded portions of the frame, with some thin brown freckling mixing into the blue as well. Traces of original muted color case-hardening are still present on the lever and hammer, with the balance turned to a mellow gray-brown patina. An original Lyman sporting front sight is installed, mated to the original Lyman folding leaf rear barrel sight. The original uncheckered walnut forend and straight-wrist buttstock are both in fine shape with only some minor handling marks and small surface blemishes marring the otherwise excellent original oil finish. The crescent steel buttplate has a mostly bright gray patina with some scattered patches of plum-brown freckling throughout. A 2026-dated Cody Winchester Data Sheet accompanies the rifle that confirms the configuration (including the Lyman sights), and lists a shipping date of August 4, 1902, as part of Order #149705. This is a great looking Special Order Model 1894, and is in fine condition. It would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R;
