Winchester Model 94 Lever Action Rifle MFG 1897 26" Octagonal 30 WCF
Description: Winchester Model 94 Lever Action Rifle MFG 1897 26" Octagonal 30 WCF FFL Or C&R OK The Winchester Model 1894, designed by John Moses Browning and produced by Winchester Repeating Arms Company, is one of the most iconic sporting rifles in American history. Introduced in 1894, it became the first commercially successful rifle chambered for smokeless powder cartridges, including the .30 WCF (later known as .30-30 Winchester). Early examples like this 1897 production rifle are especially desirable among collectors for their craftsmanship and historical significance in the American West and hunting tradition. Description: This is a desirable early-production 1897 Winchester Model 1894 lever action rifle chambered in .30 WCF. It features a 26-inch blued octagonal barrel paired with a full-length magazine tube, giving it the classic long rifle profile. The bore is dark but retains good, visible rifling. The rifle is equipped with a blade front sight with nickel-silver insert and a correct Winchester No. 22-B sporting rear sight. Mechanically, the lever action is solid and functions smoothly, with good, tight lock-up consistent with a well-maintained example. The rifle remains a clean, original early Model 1894. The wood stocks are solid and show light to moderate handling marks from honest use, but are free of chips or cracks, adding to the rifle’s overall appeal. Specifications:
