DELUXE Winchester 1895 Rifle 35wcf 24"
Description:
What a beauty! Made in 1903, this is the first year of the 35wcf cartridge, which was designed FOR the Model 1895. This example is in surprisingly nice condition, especially for its age. Interesting characteristics include the highly figured wood, English swivels, trap butt and gold oval. We obtained a factory letter (Cody Museum) confirming this rifle's basic configuration, including: the caliber, Lyman receiver sight, fancy checkered wood, shipped Sept. 27, 1902. (It specifies shotgun butt with rubber buttplate, but we suspect thats a mistake, and that the steel buttplate was there from the start.) 24" barrel has a beautiful, crisp sharp bore and the action interior is as pretty and clean as the outside. Rifle has some scattered handling marks and small dings. Considering its 113 years old, this is a rare find in this configuration and condition. We also have a box of vintage ammo, a set of reloading dies and a small supply of brass, that will be included in the sale. Give a call or email for further information.
