Description:
FINE CONDITION 1895 SADDLE RING CARBINE, .30 ARMY CALIBER (.30-40 KRAG), WITH ORIGINAL HANDGUARD INTACT, #108XXX, MADE 1915. this is a really attractive example that still has the original handguard intact and not cracked or chipped. The barrel retains most of the original blue and retains the correct military style ladder rear sight with slide intact. The receiver shows some nice blue on the bottom half and magazine with the top portion showing some thinning blue mixing heavily gray. All fine markings and no extra holes. Saddle ring intact. The forearm, handguard and butt stock show light handling only with tight wood to metal fit. Tight action with excellent bore. These 1895 carbines are getting very difficult to find in unaltered condition with handguards intact. This is a fine 106 year old example.
