30 Army .30/40 Krag Lyman 21 Receiver Sight
Description:
A Winchester 1895 in chambered in 30 Army (30-40 Krag). This rifle was manufactured in 1916 (serial number #298686). The rifle retains 80-85% factory bluing on receiver, with a Lyman 21 receiver sight. The lettering under the sight is crisp and bold. The original 28” tapered barrel retains 50% of original factory bluing with some pitting with rear sight leaf not present. The barrel address and caliber markings are sharp. The rifle bore is bright with strong rifling and mild pitting in the lands. The walnut stock exhibits an aged patina with mother of pearl inlays on both sides a crack near end at the toe of the stock. the forend has the same rich patina no cracks. The screws are in good shape. Mechanically excellent All in all a rifle in great shape for a 103-year-old rifle. Thank you ed
