Description: Winchester 1895 Saddle Ring Carbine in 30-06 This is a Winchester 1895 Lever Action Saddle Ring carbine in 30-06 caliber. It features standard walnut stocks finger groove carbine forend and handguard retained by a single barrel band. It has a five shot fixed magazine with a 22" blue steel round barrel It is fitted with a ramped blade front sight and a graduated rear ladder sight. The Buttplate has a trapdoor and an original cleaning rod is inside it. Condition: The overall condition of this Winchester 1895 carbine is fine considering its age. The barrel retains nearly all of its factory blue with some muzzle wear near the end. The receiver also displays the vast majority of its factory blue with some thinning and wear, especially along the high edges, as well as a saddle ring ghost and some small scratches which are insignificant. The stocks are in excellent condition and remain proud with some scattered light impressions from use. The bore is bright and shiny. The screw heads remain in fine, un-messed with condition. The carbine cycles fine with good lock up. There is a filled sling swivel hole present along the stock toe line but does not distract from the overall fine condition of this carbine. Its hard to find Winchester 1895 carbines in this nice a shape. The size and power of these 95 carbines made them a favorite of the Texas Rangers and other similar agencies.
