Winchester model 1895 405 caliber
Description:
Listing my Winchester model 1895 rifle , in the 405 caliber , 24" barrel , original Lyman rear sight and blade front, this rifle was Mfg'd near end of production, made 1927, serial number 419,664 out of a total of 425,881 produced in all calibers until 1931. Browning designed for Winchester the first box magazine rifle to accomadate pointed ammunition for the U.S. Army , short lived but they were used by Texas Rangers, Border Patrol and other police agency's but known more as Teddy Roosevelts Big Medicine African companion. Most of the blue is gone, but all original metal and wood and no extra holes or cracks. Bore is nice . If your pinky's not to big it would maybe fit , quite a hole at the end of the barrel. Pretty decent shape for a 93 year old rifle. Planning a bear hunt in the north country this would be a classic piece. Old T.R. said he could crank out three shots a minute with this rifle. A 405 grain soft point would be quite adequate for most encounters. Can ship to a C&R or FFL. shipping cost will be in my asking price. If you choose to return it after three days I'd refund your money but you can pay the cost of insurance and shipping. No firing or dismantling , please
