Winchester Model 1895 rare flat side 38-72. Superb, reblued
Description: Near pristine and very scarce antique Winchester 1895 early flat side rifle in 38-72 caliber, which has been expertly reblued. S/N 4558 made in 1896. 26" round tapered barrel with an excellent shiny bore, along with a steel crescent buttplate. The wood appears to be the original finish, with a possible light rub of oil, but no sanding or repairs Factory issued sights consist of a German silver front and Winchester sporting rear. There is also a Marbles tang sight which was installed later by someone who should probably not own a drill. The retry was a bit better, but also off slightly, this time in the opposite direction. See pics of upper tang with sight removed. Looks OK as installed. All mechanical functions appear to be working properly. Please add $100 for expedited and fully insured shipping from Alaska.
