Description:
24 inch round barrel bears the caliber marking “30 U.S. MOD. 1903.” Sporting front sight with nickel silver insert and a half buckhorn sporting rear. Four round box magazine. Plain walnut forearm with matching straight grip buttstock re-fit with a red rubber butt pad. Condition is about good overall having suffered poor storage conditions. The metal surfaces range from near excellent original blue on the right side of receiver and magazine, to freckled, with touched up blue over lightly pitted surfaces on the barrel, to cleaned and polished with artificially browned finish on the left side of the receiver. The bore is excellent, bright and shiny with strong rifling. The action is crisp and tight. The stocks are solid and full fitting with typical wear and handling marks. The rubber butt pad shows age cracks. Manufactured in 1909.
