Winchester.
Model 1895. US inspected rifle
Description: Winchester. Model 1895. US inspected rifle. Cal 30 US. Manufactured in 1899. 28" barrel. This rifle remains in original configuration with most of its original factory finish. The barrel retains approximately 85% original factory blue with some thinning, and sports a blade front sight and buckhorn rear. The frame and sides of the magazine retain approximately 70% of the original high polish factory blue with the balance thinning to gun metal grey. The area within the flutes are bright. Original walnut stocks are near mint, proud to the metal with no cracks or chips, just a couple of light handling marks. Bolt retains 80% of the original blue. Left side of lever is stamped "K.S.M" which stands for Kelly S. Morse who was a U.S Ordnance inspector, which would indicate this rifle has a military tie in which is almost never seen on a standard 1895 Winchester. Strong traces of case color on hammer. Near mint strong bore. Perfect action. Nice all original 1895 Winchester with military association. Serial # 24711. SOLD Antique: Yes |
