EXTREMELY RARE model 1903 US marked WW-1 training rifle from 1918
Description:
SOLD !!! This is an incredible piece of history, and seldom encountered Model 1903 Winchester training rifle from WW-1. Very few of these little semi-automatic 1903's (as few as 600) were special ordered and sold as trainers, and of that number most were sent overseas. The Marshall mark of a US Flaming Bomb makes this specimen a very rare piece indeed, and highly sought after by military collectors around the world. This particular rifle has a S/N of 99129, which dates it to 1918, and fits into the range of rifles chosen for training purposes. This piece is all original, from the special sight package, which includes the Lyman adjustable tang sight to all the finishes on the wood and metal. The 20" barrel has a beautiful minty bore, as well as crisp barrel script and proof marks. This gun is designed to shoot the 22 Winchester Automatic cartridge, which is not the same as any other 22 designation ammo. There were only around 600 examples made for military training purposes during WW-1. Of that number, 500 were sent overseas, leaving 100 stateside, (and this is one of them). It has remained in near excellent overall condition for 103 years. This may be one of the rarest Winchester 22's you could ever hope to find, and 100% REAL!! Payment by Postal Money Orders prefered, unless otherwise agreed.
