EARLY MODEL 53 SOLID FRAME RIFLE IN SCARCE 32-20 CALIBER

Description:
MODEL 53 SOLID FRAME RIFLE IN SCARCE 32-20 CALIBER, #3XXX MADE SECOND YEAR OF PRODUCTION IN 1925, only in production from 1924-1932 (another victim of the Great Depression), interestingly 16,905 were made in .25-20 caliber (considered the standard caliber for this model) and only 4,718 were made in .32-20 caliber, exc. deep barrel blue, overall fine blue on the receiver showing a little age and very light thinning, exc. blue on the bolt and exc. blue on the loading gate and forend cap, even the upper tang shows fine blue overall, MINTY BRIGHT BORE, exc. forend, butt stock has a tiny chip at the upper tang/receiver juncture on the left side and an old triangular crack/chip at the bottom of the stock where the gun was obviously dripped and a large chip came out in the usual place starting at the lower butt plate screw and going forward and down, the original piece was neatly put back in and reinforced with a tiny tack/nail from the bottom- sounds a lot worse than it is, tight action, correct steel shotgun butt plate, buckhorn rear sight with blade/bead front sight, nice appearance with great blue.
