Scarce Winchester Model 53 Rifle 25-20 Mfg 1928
Description: Serial #962938, .25-20 WCF, 22 inch tapered round Nickel Steel barrel with a bright, excellent bore. This is a Model 53 Winchester lever-action rifle built in 1928 as part of a relatively limited 8 year production run of a model designed to be an updated 1892. This example is in very fine condition with barrel showing about 75-80% of the original blue thinning to gray along the sides. The receiver has worn, mostly gun metal gray with small protected areas of finish toning to gray-brown. The original serrated metal shotgun butt, straight grip wood stocks are excellent with scattered scratches, nicks and small contusions with a short crack at the right shoulder corner of the wrist that appear stable. It is sighted with an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear and an updated brass bead front sight. The action functions smoothly holding at half and full cock with a crisp trigger. A very fine example of a relatively scarce Winchester 53 rifle. FFL or C&R SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
