Family Collection piece - an Unusual, Used, Winchester Model 53 Takedown Rifle in 25-20 Caliber; 22-Inch Round Barrel; Serial Number 10,4XX. Markings and Dates are Correct and Sharp, making this an Original Condition Model 53. The Straight Wood Stock and Forend are in good condition with only minor to moderate wear. The Serrated Buttplate, Magazine & Forend Caps, and metal furniture retain much of their Original Blue. As shown in the photos, the ¼-Twist (Interrupted Thread) Take-down Feature is Fully Functional. Mechanical functions are tight and secure. We are not dealers or experts, and estimate the condition as 70 Percent (or better) Original Wood and Metal Finish. The rear sight appears original, except for the replacement step-elevator. The only other minor condition - which does not affect function - is that the magazine take-down lever is a bit loose compared to our other examples.
