Winchester Model 53 Solid Frame Rifle Made 1927 Scarce 44 WCF Caliber
Description: ***** SALE PENDING 2/25/2025 HARLEY IN WI ***** The Winchester Model 53 rifle, a continuation of the famed Model 1892, came standard with a 22" round barrel, button magazine, plain walnut stocks, plain trigger, shotgun style butt stock with fluted comb and serrated steel butt plate, ramped front sight, blued finish, in calibers 25 WCF, 32 WCF or 44 WCF. Both solid frames and take down frames were available. Some had their own serial range and some were numbered in the Model 1892/92 serial range. Capacity 6 rounds. A total of only 24,916 pieces were manufactured between 1924 and 1932. Condition: This is a solid frame example, serialized in the 1892/92 number range, 975899, made 1927. Barrel and receiver retain 15% thinning original blue. Stocks show wear, nicks and scratches. No damage to butt plate. Action functions properly and smoothly; half cock safety also functions correctly. The markings are super sharp and crisp. Bore is a 9.5 of 10, brilliantly bright and shiny with absolutely no pitting or wear. The loading gate retains 85% original blue. The last 95 years have been kind to this rifle, and it should remain in that condition with proper handling. A valuable piece of Winchester firearm history that will increase in value as a collector's prize. TERMS: No international sales. No sales to Alaska and Hawaii.
