Winchester Model 54 270 Win. INCREDIBLE first year gun!

***SOLD*** One of the finest Winchester Model 54s that I have ever encountered, and I've handled far more than most! Incredible and absolutely untouched original finishes throughout. Were it not for a couple of unfortunate shallow but sharp scrapes on either side of the stock, there would be no question of this rifle's supreme reign. Even the fragile finished bottom metal and buttplate look practically new, a trait virtually unheard of in this model.
In addition to the almost unbelievable condition, this rifle also features two more unique and desirable features, those being the chambering of .270 caliber (significantly more difficult to find than '06) and a rare sequence S/N 555.
The nearly unworn bolt is also scribed with a matching # 555 indicating a first year production date of 1925!! The 24" barrel has a minty bore and all mechanical functions are working smoothly and properly.
Of course the rear receiver bridge remains UNDRILLED and there have been no other modifications of any kind.
With only 50,000 units in all styles ever produced, THIS is quite possibly the finest and most unique Winchester Model 54 standard rifle you will ever see offered for sale.
