Winchester Model 54 early style Superb!
Description:
Among the best you will ever see, here is an outstanding Winchester Model 54 early style rifle in 30-06 caliber, a true time capsule from 1929. Only 50,000 Model 54s were ever produced making them more than 10 times rarer than their immediate successor the Pre 64 Model 70. Of those 50,000 I would estimate less than 15% remain unaltered for scope use and/or a host of other abominations. Guns in this fine condition are practically nonexistent. The original Bluing on the barrel and action of this rifle appear virtually new with the bottom metal and buttplate showing a bit more patina, but still exceptional for this model. The original wood finish is superb with only light handling marks and no cracks, gouges, or alterations whatsoever. The rifle is spotless inside with an excellent bore and perfect mechanical function. All components are correct including the swivel stud posts and the Lyman 66W rear sight. The S/N is 26287 with matching scribed bolt made in 1929.
