Winchester Model 55 Takedown Rifle 30 WCF Nickel Steel Built 1929
Description: Serial #1050129, .30 WCF (.30-30 Win), 24 inch Nickel Steel tapered barrel with an excellent bore. This is the Winchester Model 55 takedown rifle manufactured in 1929 with the standard 3 round magazine and shotgun butt. The barrel shows about 75-80% fading blue finish with scattered light scratches and contusions thinning to gray near the receiver which has perhaps 60-65% finish with marks from a previously mounted receiver sight. The stock and forearm are solid with numerous old contusions and use marks with much of a later added varnish still present. It is only sighted with the original ivory bead front sight, a blank in the rear sight position and the receiver shows two holes left from a Climbing Lyman sight mount. A great hunting rifle project that just needs a good sight or perhaps a full restoration. FFL or C&R SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
