EXPERIMENTAL Winchester Model 61 in .22 W.M.R

Description:
Selling rare and fine Pre-64 Winchester's from a friend's personal collection.  This is one of several that will be listed soon.

You are looking at an excellent condition, original & unique EXPERIMENTAL Winchester Model 61, in caliber .22 W.M.R., Mfg. 1959.  Has factory hand stamped (.22 W.M.R.) on the left side of the barrel.  The barrel lacks the standard Winchester inscription as defined in Schwing’s book.  Has an "H1" hand stamped on the end of the receiver.

Similar experimental style barrel markings are pictured on page 90 of "Winchester Slide Action Rifles Vol II" by Ned Schwing. 

It has a 24” round barrel, grooved top receiver, correct proof marks, exceptional bore with correct 17 groove fore-end, plastic butt plate.

Stock and fore-end in my opinion appear to be professionally refinished, an exceptional job.  Blue is 100% factory original.
