Up for sale I have a VERY RARE Winchester model 61 Fred Routledge Counter bore. These are extremely hard to come by in factory original condition and there are a lot of fakes out there. This one has been verified to be 100% original and untouched by the biggest 61 collectors in the United States. I will cover the 11 things to look for on these rifles and this one checks every box. #1 it has the matted top reciever like a shotgun. #2 it has the unique triangular loading port only seen on Routledge bores. #3 No rear barrel slot for rear sight. #4 No. 81 front bead sight. #5 the 61 barrel address is stamped on the left side of barrel only. #6 " W" stamped on the trigger guard assembly below the serial number. #7 it's in the correct serial number range from 45000-47000s. #8 it has off set proof marks on the top of reciever. #9 it has the factory tapped rear tang. #10 it has a 13 1/2" counter bore from the end of the muzzle back at .375 diameter. #11 smooth trigger, checkered safety, grooved hammer catch, and steel butt plate. This gun checks every box and was made in 1940. According to George Madis, there were only 75 Routledge Bores made. This is the nicest one that I have ever seen and I really contemplated not selling this rifle. You will never be able to upgrade this gun. I can't say enough about this rifle but if you are looking for a true investment gun then this is it. This gun will never lose value and will continue to climb at a rapid rate.
