Winchester Model 62 Slide-Action Take Down Rifle. Chambered for .22 short, .22 long, .22 long rifle. Manufactured in 1935.
Price reduced from $1,000 to $900.
This rifle is in beautiful condition. Wood has much nicer grain than you can get today without a special order / custom stock. The bluing is deep, blue, and virtually blemish free. Very light handling marks. I see no evidence of the stock or metal being refinished. The stock to butt plate fit is flush with each other (if stock were sanded I would expect the butt plate to stand a little proud to the butt stock). The serial numbers, manufacturer name, etc. are sharp and crisp, without the "softening" typically seen with a polished and refinished rifle. As can be seen from the pictures, the foregrip appears to be a little darker than the stock. Whether it was originally that way, aged that way, or was refinished at some point in the past, I cannot say. However, I don't see evidence of refinishing. Functions 100% correctly.
There is one obvious scratch in the finish on the left side of the receiver, originating at the screw head (see photograph). There are a few small areas of discoloration (on the magazine tube, above the foregrip), of unknown origin, but not obvious without a close inspection (see photograph).
