WORLD WAR II PRODUCTION MODEL 63 .22 LR SEMI-AUTO RIFLE, #49XXX, MADE 1942
Description: WORLD WAR II PRODUCTION MODEL 63 .22 LR SEMI-AUTO RIFLE, #49XXX, MADE 1942. This was the last major production year for Winchester before putting all their might behind the war effort. Nice rifle showing normal light use and no abuse. The receiver shows nearly all of the original blue with only some very light freckling on the right side that is almost too minor to mention. The barrel also shows nearly all the blue with just a little age and handling. Stock and forend show light handling only. Upper tang correctly drilled and tapped for tang sight which is correct only on early Model 63s. Buckhorn with small blade/bead front sight, butt plate forend cap still retains nice blue mixing plum/brown. Minty bright bore. Basically, this is a lightly used rifle that shows no abuse. The quality of these, especially the Pre-War examples is superb. I have one of the same vintage that I’ve been shooting for years and they are truly wonderful rifles to use. $850.
