RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 64 LEVER ACTION RIFLE IN DESIRABLE 219 ZIPPER
Description:
26 inch round barrel. 2/3 length tube magazine. Original sights include a bead on ramp with hood front, a 22H sporting sight in rear dovetail and a 98A bolt mounted peep sight. Plain walnut forearm with matching pistol grip buttstock. Checked steel shotgun style buttplate. Excellent condition overall with metal surfaces retaining 98% original blued finish. Bore is excellent, bright and shiny with strong rifling. The stocks are full fitting with light handling marks. The buttstock has a couple little chips and a small crack from buttplate forward at the top. Winchester Handbook by Madis estimates that only 861 model 64’s were made in 219 zipper. Manufactured in 1947.
