Description: RAREST OF THE RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 65 .218 BEE! Item Description Firearms Unlimited LLC is proud to present this museum quality Winchester Model 65 rifle chambered in .218 Bee. The .218 Bee variant of the model 65 is coveted by collectors due to its extreme rarity, with the .218 Bee only produced from 1937-1939. The model 65 sits in the serial number range of the model 1892 rifle, of which, only 5,700 examples produced between 1933 and 1947. This example dates to 1930, based on what Winchester experts and The Cody Firearms Museum has told us, this was likely a leftover model 1892 receiver that was not completed due to the Great Depression, and later repurposed into a .218 Bee rifle. According to one source this is the 3rd lowest serial number he had ever seen of a correctly configured .218 Bee model 65. This rifle has all the correct features including a smooth walnut stock, with checkered steel buttplate. The condition of this firearm is truly breathtaking, a true time capsule museum quality rifle that appears unfired and new old stock. The blued finish is deep and rich throughout with the only the slightest evidence this rifle was ever handled. The 24in round barrel retains all of its original factory blue. The wood is in equally perfect condition with a beautiful satin finish. The bore is AS NEW with deep rich rifling and an oppressive shine for our camera. The action is smooth and tight as expected from a Pre-War Winchester rifle! This is the HOLY GRAIL for Winchester Collectors, we have not seen another Model 65 surface in this condition with this low of a serial number, and likely won’t see one again.
