Built in the Winchester/USRAC Custom Shop circa 2004 by the Senior Design Engineer responsible for the Model 70 program as his personal bear hunting rifle and consigned by his estate, serial G173552 is both unique and important. Features include a 24-inch barrel with hybrid marking (factory roll mark with stylus caliber designation as the caliber was not catalogued), CRF action with full-length claw extractor, jeweled bolt body, three-position safety and a knurled bolt knob. Metal finish is polished blue. STOCK: Drawn from a AA-grade claro blank, formalities include wrap checkering, single crossbolt, scalloped cheek rest, Winchester logo recoil pad, sling swivel studs and a satin finish. The stock is bedded at the lug and rear guard screw. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 7.8 pounds and the length-of-pull is 13.85 inches. CONDITION: Appears to be unfired since proof. The bore is strong and bright. Metal finish is approximately 98 percent with minor traces of freckling on the bottom metal. Wood is at least 99 percent. INCLUSIONS: Factory box (no end label, a box was required to remove firearms from the factory) and delivery slip showing removal date of 12/13/04 plus serial is included.
