Winchester Model 70 1969 Unmolested Safe Queen Beauty Bargain

Description:
This is an XTR style but not marked as such (XTR designated extra finish but the lable was discontinued as some point it is unclear when exactly) This has a very high (factroy polish bue and stock finish with minor handling marks) Very sharp real cut checkering, steel not junk highly polished floor plate and t. guard very minor marks) and the engine turned bolt shaft also indicates its minimal use. It comes with a nice Bushnell (owned by Bausch And Lombe) variable scope (duplex) with very clever and no longer seen much tip off or swing away type mount ...so that if snow falls in the lense or scope is fogged by rain the scope fips off to the left so the factory sights may be accessed. Note the front site and even the front site hood are still present as is the rear site howver the rear site blade must have been removed for scope clearance and is missing. Site blade should be avail from some or other souce. 
Shortly after 1963 Winchester signicantly cheapened their entire line in favor of higher production and cheaper costs; they lost considerable market share. By the late 60's they revamped their line and this is a quality New Haven Ct made real winchester (Cal 30-06)
