Winchester Model 70 carbine, also known as the Model 70 lightweight carbine, was manufactured from 1984 until 1987 in both medium and short action. The short action carbine seen here is chambered in .223 REM. Features include a bejeweled bolt, 6-round capacity magazine, 20-inch barrel with no sights, and a checkered walnut stock. The receiver is marked 'WINCHESTER' on the left side, and the serial number is stamped on the right side above the chamber. The left side of the barrel is marked 'WINCHESTER MODEL 70 CARBINE SHORT ACTION .223 REM/MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL'. The red rubber butt pad is marked 'WINCHESTER' within a circle. A great candidate for the field or collection, this Winchester carbine, short action will not disappoint. Finish is good with the rifle showing normal wear. .223 Remington
