This very scarce .30-06 caliber Winchester Model 70 National Match rifle is circa 1956. The 24"" round barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The gun has approx. 99% blue and 99% matted receiver finish. The bolt is bright. It is equipped with a Lyman style interchangable disc front sight and Redfield International Match rear peep sight. The barrel also has a scope base installed. The stock is fine with light usage overall. It is correctly equipped with two sling swivels and a target hand stop. The correct checkered buttplate is present. It is correctly equipped with an internally adjustable match trigger. The action functions correctly. After the pre-64 Model 70 Super Grade Featherweight and African rifles, the National Match rifle is the third scarcest Model 70 rifle with a production of only 1,971 rifles (0.34% of the total production).
