Pre 64 Winchester Model 70 30-06 Outstanding!
Description: Another extraordinary Pre 64 Winchester 70, this one an earlier post-war vintage with solid bolt knob and integral front sight ramp in the all-time great and everlasting 30-06 caliber. S/N 174*** with matching scribed bolt made in 1951. Condition is outstanding having all original finishes showing 98% by majority, with the top side of the receiver showing slightly less blue and some light scope base tracks which I have taken close up photos of. This rifle did not have a scope on it when I purchased it but I am guessing that there may have been a bit of overzealous scrubbing with steel wool when it was removed. The color shift is subtle and not distracting, but slightly lighter than usual if you handle as many as I do. The barrel is 24" with a mirror bore. The mechanical function is expectedly smooth and without any issues. Despite the minor wear mentioned on the receiver, this remains a very high condition rifle that would surely grace most any collection. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
