Description: Pristine condition Pre 64 Winchester Model 70 Super Grade in the scarce and highly coveted 257 Roberts caliber! As far as Pre 64 production goes, the 257 Roberts is actually about 6,000 guns rarer by caliber than the two 22 Hornets I just sold, and is one of my absolute favorites with negligible recoil yet very impressive performance. S/N 230065 with matching scribed bolt made in 1952. 99%+ original Blue and Wood finish. This incredible rifle looks and feels new in all regards with little sign of any actual use or age, other than a couple of miniscule dings in the wood and some yellowing of lacquer on its bakelite forend tip. (not uncommon). 24" barrel with mint bore. Flawless mechanics. Desirable solid bolt knob. The bolt face and other clues suggest that this rifle has not been fired beyond factory proof, which is consistent with all others from this small collection that I have been working through. Just beautiful and super clean guns with no signs of tampering whatsoever. All correct and original SG components are present including the deluxe stock, stamped floorplate, proper Redfield front sight, and robust detachable swivels.
