Pre 64 Winchester Model 70 Super Grade. 270 Caliber. Superb!
Description: A near pristine Winchester Model 70 Super Grade in the ever popular and difficult to find .270 Win. caliber. S/N 109934 with matching bolt made in 1949. Incredible original finishes showing virtually 100% Blue, 99%+ Varnish. (industry standard term used, athough never varnish). Aside from some blushing/yellowing of the original lacquer on the forend tip, I am hard pressed to find any flaws whatsoever on this gun, it is that good. As far as the forend tip, contrary to popular terminology, these were not made of "ebony" but of a composite bakelite material that did not take on lacquer as well as the wood, sometimes leading to disproportionate flaking or discoloration over time, even on otherwise mint rifles, especially if displayed near a sunlit window. The bolt face and every other indicator suggest that this rifle has never been fired beyond the factory proof. 24" barrel with an anticipated mint bore and flawless mechanics. All components are original and correct including the rare Redfield 255 gold bead front sight and the proper robust detachable swivels.
