Description: ***SOLD*** Incredible and rare transition era .270 Super Grade with a VERY unique piece of wood. S/N 62*** with matching scribed bolt made in 1947. Beautiful condition throughout showing 98%-99% original finishes. All correct Super Grade components are present including the special Redfield front sight and detachable swivels. Bore and mechanics are flawless, as are the internals. This scarce early post war rifle retains the Pre War style receiver with a clover leaf tang and has the unique to this era "clam shell" aka "rabbit's foot" safety. The beautiful wood shows quite a unique color pattern with very light streak running along the comb, then reemerges along the L. side forearm. There is another lighter section on the toe. I have seen this phenomenon before, but to a lesser degree. There are absolutely no blends or refinish that I can detect and I think I've seen it all! It's just a really cool and different piece of wood. Certainly a conversation piece for any collection! Expedited and fully insured shipping from Alaska to your FFL is an additional $75.
