***SOLD***
Beautiful, undrilled PRE WAR Model 70 in the always elusive .270 caliber! Post war Pre 64 .270s are relatively common but not so with the Pre Wars. These are quite difficult to find, especially in collectible condition.
S/N 30862 with matching scribed bolt made in 1940.
Outstanding condition throughout showing 97-98% original finishes with just a few scattered light marks in the wood finish.
24" barrel with minty bore. All mechanical functions are butter smooth and crisp in typical pre war fashion.
The rear receiver bridge remains correctly UNDRILLED. There are no non-factory holes on this rifle.
Original sights include a Lyman 31W brass bead up front and a factory inletted and installed matching component # Lyman 48WJS receiver sight.
The barrel channel is flawless with no routing or glass bedding present.
There are 2 minor and easily reversible upgrades to mention; The somewhat awkward pre war flag safety lever has been upgraded to a later and more user friendly type 3, and the original trigger has had its front surface checkered.
Expedited and fully insured shipping from Alaska is an additional $100.
