Pre War Pre 64 Winchester Model 70 CARBINE 7MM Extremely Rare!
Description:
***SOLD*** Fabulous example of an extremely rare 7MM (7x57 Mauser) carbine in very high condition. Early 4 digit S/N 3004 with matching scribed bolt made in 1937. 98% original condition overall with only scattered light wear and a few light scratches on the barrel. The 20" barrel has a mirror bore, along with perfect ramp transitions and muzzle crown. All mechanical functions are perfect and butter smooth. Polished, carbonum blued receiver seen only on the earliest rifles with an UNDRILLED rear bridge. Rust blued barrel. Frost blued extractor. Early square faced floorplate release plunger. Factory inletted and installed Lyman 48 WJS receiver sight with all matching component #s and correct Lyman 12S filler in barrel dovetail. The highly coveted 7MM is one of the rarest calibers ever cataloged in a Model 70, representing only 1/4 of 1% total production. Genuine carbines such as this one in 7MM caliber represent only a small fraction of those! This rifle is certainly among the earliest and very finest of its kind that you will ever see offered for sale.
Expedited and fully insured shipping from Alaska to your FFL in a custom cut foam lined box is $100.
