***SOLD***Fantastic example of the seldom seen PRE WAR Target style Model 70 in universally favorite 30-06 caliber. 4 digit S/N 4661 with matching scribed bolt made in early 1937!
Truly masterful workmanship on these first made rifles, and this one remains in exceptional condition considering its 86 years, showing 98% original Blue and 96% original varnish with only light overall handling marks on the wood. 24" barrel with flawless bore. The mechanical functions are all crisp and functioning properly. Sight options include the factory inletted and installed very rare 1st issue Lyman 48 receiver sight with thimble knobs and matching component numbers. Also included are the correct era dimpled factory scope mounting blocks. Most importantly, the rear receiver bridge remains perfect and undrilled. A great rifle to incorporate into any collection.
