Must Read: This unique gun belongs to a friend of ours. It was sold dirctly to the customer at the old Winchester factory in New Have directly approx 6 months prior to the gun being offered to the public. The original owner now deceased was a serious hunter and a close friend of the fellow (our friend ) who has owned this gun since the orignal owner passed away many years ago. As we recall the Featherweight Westerner was only offered in one year (1962) just prior to the end of production for the venerable pre 64 Winchesters. The original owner, a New Englander took it on one or more western hunts and i think i was told took an elk and possibly an antelope and mule deer (will confirm) In either transit or storage the stock was exposed to some moisture. Perhaps 5 yrs ago it was taken to the fellow who does our stock work. I saw the gun there at the time and the wood was prof. refinished.. Metal is at or near 100 % and the box is also exellent for its age. It is being sold exactly as shown with the box, sling, scope, scope box and rifle just as is it was in 1962 . Seperately we have the opportunity to see many fine and unique guns; while this not a fancy gun we have had at least 2 other FW Westerners (my own guns) over time as we think they are pretty unique. The FW are considerably lighter than std wts and have 22" barrels. These came from the factory with the recoil pad shown.

Must Read: This unique gun belongs to a friend of ours. It was sold dirctly to the customer at the old Winchester factory in New Have directly approx 6 months prior to the gun being offered to the public. The original owner now deceased was a serious hunter and a close friend of the fellow (our friend ) who has owned this gun since the orignal owner passed away many years ago. As we recall the Featherweight Westerner was only offered in one year (1962) just prior to the end of production for the venerable pre 64 Winchesters. The original owner, a New Englander took it on one or more western hunts and i think i was told took an elk and possibly an antelope and mule deer (will confirm) In either transit or storage the stock was exposed to some moisture. Perhaps 5 yrs ago it was taken to the fellow who does our stock work. I saw the gun there at the time and the wood was prof. refinished.. Metal is at or near 100 % and the box is also exellent for its age. It is being sold exactly as shown with the box, sling, scope, scope box and rifle just as is it was in 1962 . Seperately we have the opportunity to see many fine and unique guns; while this not a fancy gun we have had at least 2 other FW Westerners (my own guns) over time as we think they are pretty unique. The FW are considerably lighter than std wts and have 22" barrels. These came from the factory with the recoil pad shown.
