Transition Model 70 Winchester in rare 22 Hornet Caliber
Description:
Very Nice Transition Model 70 in 22 Hornet Caliber. Serial # 4333x Early 1940's production with a 47 Barrel Date. Imagine the receiver was built pre WWII and finished after the war ended. Have had many over the years where the receiver and barrel date are not the actual finish date. Metal retains all of 98% Original Finish with a couple of minor marks (pictured).
wood retains equal Original Finish also with some minor handling marks also (pictured). Bore is Excellent. Changed the floorplate from another hornet because the Original had a heavy Scratch on it. Rear Bridge has been drilled as pictured and referenced these later 40's guns which said many of them had been drilled on rear bridge. Not particularly happy where the rear hole is but, it is there and could be Original. Really strong gun that has not been handled and shot much. Hard to find in this condition.
