Manufactured in 1940, this Winchester Model 70 Carbine bolt-action Rifle, chambered for the desirable .257 Roberts caliber, is a vintage rifle which has remained a popular choice of the American sportsman since its inception. The positive extraction of the controlled round feeding action provides a reliable extraction, a particularly necessary trait for hunters who pursue dangerous game. This design also incorporates a slot in the bolt face below the locking lug, adding strength and stability to both forward lugs, in addition to a 1-piece straight-comb pistol grip stock with positive impressed multi-point checkering at the rear and fore grips, Griffin & Howe scope base with a Lyman Alaskan 2 ½ x scope, cloverleaf receiver tang, 20" blued barrel, 1-piece bolt construction, a cone breeching-system that helps prevent bullet-nose damage, fixed hooded ramp front sight, a three-position wing-type safety, black buttplate, 5-round magazine capacity, sling swivel studs, and a black pistol grip cap.
