Description:
PRE-64 (1953) Model 70 Featherweight in 30-06 Spfd. 22" barrel with excellent bore. Matching bolt. Excellent original blue on barrel & action 95%+. Aluminum floorplate is worn and trigger guard shows use marks. Wood with original finish is quite nice, however it has one visible flaw. A crack coming from the lower buttplate screw has followed a grain line to the surface on ONE side and is visible. Good news is, it appears to have been re-inforced with wood cement thru the lower screw hole. It does not spread at all with buttplate off. The sling stud also extends well into the main stock adding re-enforcment. It is solid and I do not believe will ever be a functional issue. Unfortunately the visible crack certainly affects this rifles value and thus the price. Aside from this, this is a nice early featherweight. There are no alterations in the factory inletting. Swivel studs were opened to accept QR swivels. $75.00 Shipping & Insurance to your FFL in the lower 47. NO CA Sales. Thanks for looking.
