Winchester M-70, 30.06, Featherweight w/22 inch Barrel, 4x12x Redfield Scope w/Pachmyer lowsling mts.. This was all fited by a Lt Max Hurlbut of the Los Angelos Police dept and was used as part of a "Brush Fire/Sniper unit" during the "Watts Riot of August 1965".
Along w/a few of his fellow officers with military and hunting experience were assigned to pick off "Roof-Top Shooters" who were trying to kill policeman apprehending rioters on the streets below. He also hunted w/this gun in East africa and Alaska.
He went on to publish a book about this incident and his other experiences called "Vagabond Policeman" (2013). The document is signed and accompanies the firearm.
This piece has features of the "Super Grade w/a high cheekpiece, fishtail checkering on both e the forearm and stock. It's overal condition is very ood as well as being an "Iconic Firearm" w/a history .
