WINCHESTER – Model 70, .22 Hornet 24” barrel length, bolt action rifle, deluxe figured walnut stock with hand checkering, Winchester aluminum butt plate, factory sling swivels, 1949 manufacture, metal work is in 95% condition, wood is in 90% condition, perfect bore showing very little use, this caliber is marked .22 Hornet with Kilbourn neatly inscribed underneath, Kilbourn was the originator of the K-Hornet cartridge, and standard .22 Hornet cartridges can be fired in this rifle or reloaded to K-Hornet specs for improved performance, transition era gun with cloverleaf tang, this rifle is fitted with a Weaver K10 scope that is in near perfect condition and mounted in Weaver rings, this setup is appropriate for this era rifle, and is a perfect combination for collectors seeking Model 70 rifles of that era of excellent sportsmanship and performance, rare and wonderful example of a Model 70 Winchester obtained from the Carmichel collection. 13 5/8” LOP 9lbs., 6 oz.
