Bolt action rifle, deluxe figured walnut stock with hand checkering, Winchester aluminum butt plate, completely unaltered gun, factory sling swivels, 1949 manufacture, metal work is in 97% condition showing moderate wear on bolt handle knob, wood is in 95% condition, fitted with a Unertl target type scope locks fitted to the rear receiver ring and rear sight dovetail, which is quite typical of varmint rifles of its era, exceptional example of a Model 70 Winchester obtained from the Carmichel collection.
