Winchester Model 70 Pre-64 .375 H&H Super Grade
Description:
Winchester Model 70 Super Grade Pre-64 .375 H&H, maufactured in 1956. The metal remains in overall excellent condition, and the wood is likewise excellent except for some scattered compression marks. The bore is excellent, and it appears to have seen little use overall. Please study the detailed photos closely for a better description of the condition.
It features all correct Super Grade components of the era, including a rust blued barrel; jewelled bolt components and follower; "Super Grade" floorplate; Redfield #255 gold bead front sight; and proper "Super" stamping on the underside of the barrel and reverse "S" stamping on the recoil lug. The rear sight is a Lyman 48 WJS, and it does not appear that a rear sight was ever installed in the factory drilled holes on the barrel. The non-integral front sight ramp is correct for the era and has the seldom seen crosshatch checkering pattern, which was made for a very limited time during the transition from the stippled ramp style to the serrated style. The barrel is dated 1956, which matches the production date for the receiver. This is an investment grade Winchester Model 70.
