Winchester Pre 64 Model 70 .22 Hornet Supergrade Claus Willig Engraved
Description: Winchester Model 70 Pre 64 Transition with Supergrade Stock and Claus Willig Engraving. The action is a 5 digit serial number with a cloverleaf tang and medium scroll in gold surrounded panels on both right sides of the front and rear rings and down the length of the left side of the action, open scroll in a panel on both sides of the cocking piece, following onto the top of the cocking piece, Tng has a gold border surrounding medium scroll, bolt has a three panel ball with a stylized gold outlined panel with scroll down the handle. Floorplate is full coverage engraved with a fox running in 24 carat gold inside an oval with the surrounding being open scroll, gold banded guard with scroll inside, trigger is gold washed, gold surrounded panel at the rear of the barrel with tight scroll inside, stylized gold scroll panels follow down the barrel to the hooded front sight, all Winchester markings are present and shap edged, the stock is an original low-comb Winchester Supergrade with a 14" Length of Pull to a Winchester pad. Condition: All blue is in near new condition as reblued after the upgrade, all of the blued surfaces were done so as to be faithful to the original. The Buhler mount and scope are in good condition, scope is clear, 22G rear sight is missing, front sight is proper and integral to the barrel, all surfaces can be considered to have been refinished. The safety is non-operational, bore is good. The stock is an original Winchester stock with a non-original pad, refinished, chequering is a bit worn.
