Description:
Often heralded as "the rifleman's rifle," this pre-64 Winchester Model 70 is the definition of a classic.  This particular gun is a standard sporter, with checkered steel butt plate and straight comb.  The lustrous blue of the barrel contrasts wonderfully with the matte blue finish on the receiver, and both are in beautiful shape.  Bore is bright and excellent with crisp rifling its entire length, and the bolt's face is very clean.  Bottom metal is equally nice, with just a slight amount of high edge thinning.  Stock has lots of original finish left, with just a few light handling marks consistent with light field use.  Rear sight dovetail slot has a nice Marble's filler installed.  An outstanding example of an honestly used and very well cared for classic rifle.
