Description: Winchester Model 70 Standardweight Pre-War .270 Win. 24" Barrel 9lbs 2oz scoped Lyman Alaskan 2.5X riflescope with post & crosshair reticle. Griffin & Howe quick detach side mount. Original sling swivels and sight hood. Mfg. 1942 or 1946 depending on the source you look at. Post war guns are supposed to start in 1946 at #52,549 which is 147 guns later than this one. Metal is in very good condition with minor handling marks, freckling, edge wear and some carry wear on the floorplate, trigger guard and buttplate. The action has been drilled and tapped for the G&H side mount. Bolt is correctly numbered to the gun. Wood is in very good condition with some scratches, creases, dents and minor handling marks. Scope and mount are in very good condition with clear optics and minor handling marks and edge wear. There is an area on the scope base that is turning a brown patina. Bore is bright with strong rifling.
