Description:
Manufactured 1942, this Model 70 has very clean original bluing to the metal. The front sight blade is missing, the rear sight is not on the gun but is present and will be provided along with the gun to a buyer. The receiver has been tapped on the rear bridge and there are no filler screws in the holes although the threads are in good shape. The rifle bore is very good, the bolt serial number does not appear to match. The stock appears to have been shortened about 1" and a period type butt pad by Wisler Western Targets has been installed. This apparently is an early Pachmayr product. The stock also has a cutout on the left side to accept a Lyman type rear sight. Also, there is only one fairly deep scratch/gouge on the right side of the forearm about 1 1/2" back of the tip.
