This Model 70 458 Winchester Magnum caliber pre-64 Super Grade African rifle is circa 1962. Only 1,226 were manufactured between 1956 and 1963. They are very rare today, especially in the condition that this rifle is in. This rifle features the front swivel base attached to the bottom of the barrel, two stock crossbolts, and a jeweled bolt assembly. The 26"" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The front sight cover and two detachable swivels are present. The barrel and receiver retain 100% of their original finish. The magazine floorplate is correctly marked -SUPER GRADE- . The Super Grade stock is excellent with sharp checkering and an excellent Winchester rubber buttplate. An original Winchester Model 70 hanging tag is attached to the trigger guard. The action functions correctly. It has never had a scope mounted on it. This very rare Super Grade Model 70 African rifle will never need an upgrade!
