Pre 64 Winchester Model 70 250-3000 (250 Savage) Super Grade Superb!
Description:
Fantastic example of this ultra scarce caliber and configuration. SN 110*** with matching scribed bolt made in 1949. 99% original Blue and Varnish. The only notable mark on the gun is a small darker spot on buttstock that is under the finish with no apparent disturbance or blending around it. I believe it is part of the grain or perhaps a factory fill that has darkened around the margins over many years.
24" standard weight barrel. Bore and mechanics are flawless and it does not appear to have been fired much if any beyond factory test. The unique safety lever sometimes referred to as a "clam shell" or "rabbit's foot" is a carry over from the transition era (1946-48) and not often seen on 1949 guns such as this one. All correct SG components are present including deluxe stock, properly stamped floor plate, robust detachable swivels, a 254 height Redfield gold bead front sight, etc. Rifles made in this rare 250 Savage caliber represent less than 1/2 of 1% of all Model 70 production. Super Grade rifles made in 250 Savage represent dramatically fewer than that! This would be a stunning addition to any advanced Model 70 collection. Shipping from Alaska is $75 via Priority Mail with full insurance in a custom cut foam lined box for maximum protection. Credit card users please add 3%.
