Description: ***** SALE PENDING LONNIE IN OR ***** ***** SELLING FOR THE ESTATE/WIDOW OF A LONG-TIME CUSTOMER AND COLLECTING FRIEND. STARTING PRICE IS AT HER REQUEST BUT SHE IS OPEN TO OFFERS ***** Winchester Model 71, 2nd year production (made in 1936, and only 4 rifles were made the first year of production in 1935), 3-digit serial number of 340, long tang deluxe, 24" round barrel, 1/2 magazine, blued finish, plain trigger, shotgun butt with steel widow's peak butt plate common to the Models 64, 65, 70 and 71; also has the correct bolt peep and "super swivels" on the factory bases. Winchester Proof Steel barrel with ramped front sight and factory hood still intact. Receiver correctly lacks any peep sight or scope mounting holes. Caliber .348 Winchester. CONDITION: This is a 99% rifle, having just a few light nicks/marks to the stocks and, other than one scratch on the left side of the receiver, no bluing loss besides the normal light wear to the lever from operating the action. Even the sides of the hammer have all the blue, so this rifle was used very little! The bore is super bright, sharp, shiny, a 9.9 of 10. Factory checkering remains quite sharp, and the stocks are tight and proud. All finishes are original and have not been upgraded or redone. TERMS: Must ship to FFL dealer or C&R licensee.
